“Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.” Psalm 37:4 NIV
Many people are in financial debt today because they are trying to find their security, identity and esteem in material things, instead of in Christ. So they end up buying things that they don’t need to impress people who really don’t care!
This erroneous mindset leads to the destructive habit of folks spending beyond their means, making only partial payments on their monthly credit card bills, and overextending themselves with mortgages they cannot afford and car loans they cannot service. Then, they end up asking God why there is no provision for their debts.
Beloved, being caught in this destructive habit and debt cycle is not God’s heart for His precious children. Let’s understand that having more things doesn’t complete us. Only Jesus can fill that vacuum. So find your security and completion in Christ. You have a treasure in you, One far more precious than anything money can buy. Anchor your security and identity in Jesus and delight yourself in Him alone!
“For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God’s abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ!” Romans 5:17 NIV
It says here in Romans 5:17, “We are to reign in life as kings.” When God looks at us, He doesn’t see us in weak, defeated, leftover positions. Not at all. God sees you and me as rulers, as royalty. We have His royal blood flowing through our veins.
You and I are supposed to reign. Do you know what that word “reign” means? It means “your time in power.” God said we’re to reign “in life.” That means as long as you’re alive, that is your time in power. You don’t have a two-year term like the Mayor or a four-year term like the President. Your term is to rule and reign every single day, to be victorious, to rise to new levels, to accomplish great things.
Everyone has days when they don’t feel like royalty, they don’t feel powerful. On those days, if you can just remember to reach down and check your pulse, and as long as you feel something beating, you can say,”It’s still my time to reign!” Let that be a reminder to put on a new attitude. Sometimes you have to do this by faith. By faith you need to walk like a king, talk like a king, think like a king, dress like a king, smile like a king. Don’t go by what you see. Go by what you know. There is royalty in your DNA. You have the blood of a champion, and you were created to reign in life!
Heavenly Father, I choose right now to set my mind and focus on You. I choose to look for what You want to do in and through me. I let go of any wrong thinking, attitudes, or actions that would hold me back. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
“Let the Lord judge the peoples. Vindicate me, Lord, according to my righteousness, according to my integrity, O Most High.” Psalm 7:8 NIV
Integrity is a powerful attribute in the life of the believer. Integrity means that you are dependable. You are a person of your word. You’re consistent and honest.
You might say, “Oh, I’m a pretty good person. I do the right thing most of the time.” But understand, it’s the little foxes that spoil the vine. You can veer off course just a little bit, and before you know it, you’re miles away from your destination. Don’t allow the little things to keep you from your destiny; choose integrity—even when no one is looking. For instance, you might need some paper at home, but you shouldn’t take supplies from the office. Or, you might be running into a store for just a minute, but don’t park in the handicap parking spot unless you’re supposed to. If the checkout clerk makes a mistake and gives you too much money back, that’s not God’s provision, that’s a test of integrity!
Remember, if you’ll be faithful and choose integrity in the little things, God will make you ruler over much. Be a person of integrity and open the door for God’s blessing and honor all the days of your life!
“Father, today I commit to live a life of integrity. I choose a life of excellence and ask for Your hand of favor. Show me any area that is not pleasing to You so that I can continue to grow and increase in You in Jesus’ name. Amen.”
“When he came to Jerusalem, he tried to join the disciples, but they were all afraid of him, not believing that he really was a disciple. But Barnabas took him and brought him to the apostles. He told them how Saul on his journey had seen the Lord and that the Lord had spoken to him, and how in Damascus he had preached fearlessly in the name of Jesus.” Acts 9:26-27 NIV
In scripture, the apostle Paul would have never had the impact he did without a man named Barnabas. Barnabas was one of the disciples. He was in Jesus’ inner circle. But Paul, at the time, hated believers and was having them thrown in jail. God touched his life, and he wanted to go to Jerusalem and join the other disciples, but they were afraid of him because of his reputation. Barnabas stood up for Paul and used his influence to open a door with the other disciples. Paul went on to write over half of the New Testament.
We don’t hear a lot about Barnabas. Paul greatly overshadowed him. But if you were to ask Paul, he would say, “I won because Barnabas helped me win. I succeeded because Barnabas took a risk and opened a door that I could not open on my own. Barnabas believed in me when nobody else did.”
Friend, there is no greater legacy than to help someone else win. Today, look for ways to use your influence. Help others rise up higher. Sow good seeds because they will come back to you. When you help others win, God will make sure you are surrounded by people who will help you win in return.
“Father, thank You for Your truth which sets me free. It is my delight to do Your will and help others succeed. Show me ways to be a blessing and help others. Let everything I do bring glory to You in Jesus’ name. Amen.”
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” 2 Corinthians 5:17 NIV
The very moment we receive Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, we instantly become a new creation! Your spirit is made alive in Him and the old passes away. His peace fills your heart. Of course, everything in your life doesn’t change instantly. Some things do, but God will do some things in your life over time as you grow in your relationship with Him. The key is to keep moving forward in your spiritual journey one step at a time. As you abide in Him by spending time with Him in prayer and worship, as you study His Word and connect with other believers in a Bible-based church, He will continue to transform you and renew you from the inside out!
Today, remember, God is at work in your life. You may not be where you want to be. You may have made some mistakes or had some setbacks. Know that in Him, you are the righteousness of God. In Him, you are new. In Him is everything you need. Stay on the road to victory by staying in Him!
“Father, thank You for making me new. Thank You for ordering and directing my steps. I trust that You are at work in my life transforming me into Your image. Keep me close to You as I put You first in everything I do in Jesus’ name. Amen.”
“and the people all tried to touch him, because power was coming from him and healing them all.” Luke 6:19 NIV
Did you know that when Jesus walked on earth, more than two-thirds of His ministry involved healing the sick? He went about healing the sick and all who came to Him were healed. The Bible records that “the whole multitude sought to touch Him, for power went out from Him and healed them all”.
I wish that somebody in Hollywood would produce that scene in Luke 6:19. You see the sick, lame and blind coming to Jesus. And every time one of them touches Him, BAM! His healing virtue is powerfully released and the person is healed and overjoyed!
Beloved, that’s a powerful image to have in your mind as you meditate on the Lord’s healing promises for you. See yourself receiving from His compassion and His power to heal you. Before long, His healing will fully manifest in your body and fill you with joy!
Have you been struggling in an area of your life for quite some time? God has promised He will go before you and prepare a path for you; He’ll make your crooked places straight. He wants to smooth things out for you. I believe that as you continue to commit your ways to Him, He will bring you into a season where things are going to start falling into place. You’re going to get breaks that you didn’t deserve. The promises that you’ve been standing on, you’re going to see them begin to come to pass. It’s time for you to get ready and get your fire back!
Start expecting that you are coming into a new season. Maybe it’s in your finances. Maybe you’ve struggled for a long time. Begin to declare that you’re going to see supernatural increase, supernatural opportunities, supernatural promotion. Remember, the economy is not your source—God is. He’s the One who opens doors that no person can shut. Keep standing, keep believing because God is going to make your crooked places straight and lead you down the path of blessing and victory in every area of your life!
Heavenly Father, thank You for preparing a path for me. I know You are working behind the scenes to make the crooked places straight and the rough places smooth. Give me Your strength to keep moving forward on the good path that you have for me. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
“What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?” Romans 8:31 NIV
God is on your side. He is for you. So what opposition can succeed against you? If God Himself fights for you, defends you and vindicates you, what adversity or adversary can stand against you? There are none! Hallelujah!
Let me tell you why God is on your side. The answer is found at the cross. The blood that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, shed on the cross put God on your side. Today, God can be for you even when you fail because Jesus’ blood has washed you whiter than snow!
Beloved, God does not bless you based on your good behavior. He blesses you and is for you because of the blood of the perfect Lamb—Jesus Christ. That is why as believers, we can trust God to fight for us, defend us and vindicate us. If God is for us, who can come successfully against us?
So always remember that God is on your side today because of Jesus’ blood. His unmerited favor is on your side and all of heaven’s resources are yours because of Jesus’ blood!
Now, who or what can come successfully against you?
“His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.” 2 Peter 1:3 NIV
Whether you realize it or not, God has already given you everything you need to live the life He’s called you to. You don’t need to feel stressed out, worried or afraid. You don’t have to wonder if you’re “good enough” to receive from God because God’s blessing has nothing to do with your performance. He has already blessed you and given you everything you need by His divine power!
The world’s system tells us to strive, toil and scrape to get what we want. Our culture puts limits on people because of their natural abilities, resources, background or circumstances. But with God, there are no limits! By His divine power, you are equipped, well able and strong. You are covered by His grace and mercy, and you are empowered to do all He has called you to do!
The next time you start thinking “I can’t…” or “I don’t have what it takes…,” attack those negative thoughts with the truth by declaring, “I have what it takes; I am well able; and I am equipped by His divine power at work in me!”
“Father, thank You for Your power which is at work in me. Thank You for equipping me and calling me according to Your good purpose. Give me Your strength and peace today. I keep my mind stayed on You in Jesus’ name. Amen.”
“If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.” John 15:7 NIV
It pleases God to give you the desires of your heart! He wants to see you happy, whole, strong and enjoying His blessing. When you make the Word of God your number one priority, when you stay connected to Him through prayer and worship, God promises that He will give you the desires of your heart.
Psalm 37:4 tells us again that if we delight ourselves in Him, He will give us the desires of our hearts. One of the root definitions of the word “delight” means “soft.” This gives the picture of us being soft and mold-able, like clay, in the Potter’s hands. As we allow Him to shape and mold our character, as we yield ourselves to Him, our thoughts become His thoughts, our words become His Words, and our desires become His desires.
Today, don’t allow the distractions of everyday life keep you from spending time with Him. Abide in Him and let His Words abide in you because He will give you the desires of your heart!
“Father, today I submit every area of life to You. I invite You to have Your way in my heart. Mold me and make me as I surrender every area of my life to You. I praise You and give You all the glory in Jesus’ name. Amen.”
“The mountains melt like wax before the Lord, before the Lord of all the earth.” Psalm 97:5 NIV
No matter where you are, the Lord is with you. Even in the midst of your fears, while you are alone in your room, He is there with you. The moment you begin to be aware of His presence and cultivate His presence, all your fears, anxieties and worries will melt away like butter on a hot day, or as the psalmist David puts it, “The mountains melt like wax at the presence of the Lord…”
My friend, you cannot psych yourself out of fear nor can you psych yourself out of worry. You can’t just tell yourself, “Come on, stop worrying. There is nothing to worry about.” It just doesn’t work. It takes the presence of the Lord to keep you free from worry and fears.
When you know that He is with you and for you, and you give Him your cares, the once-monumental problems become microscopic against the largeness of His love and goodness toward you!
Today, as you consider all that you need to do and the expectations placed on you, see Jesus there with you. He is your supply, your wisdom, your peace and your strength!
“Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,” Romans 5:1 NIV
The greatest blessing anyone can have is peace with God through Jesus Christ. Jesus took upon Himself all our sins at the cross. He absorbed all of God’s fiery indignation and judgment against all our sins, past, present and future, so that we can be totally forgiven and have peace with God.
So today, there is nothing between you and God. There is no more sin, no more shame and no more condemnation! Jesus’ sacrifice has given you everlasting peace with God. God is not angry with you. He never will be. He is on your side and for you all the way.
Now, what will you do today knowing that God is for you and that His assuring presence will never leave you? What will you do today knowing that all His favor, wisdom, heavenly provision and blessings are backing you up?
“A man with leprosy came and knelt before him and said, “Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.” Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” he said. “Be clean!” Immediately he was cleansed of his leprosy.” Matthew 8:2-3 NIV
You believe that God can. But do you believe that He is willing?
The leper who came to Jesus for healing said, “Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.” The leper did not doubt Jesus’ ability to heal him, but he was unsure if Jesus was willing to heal him. In other words, he believed in God’s omnipotence, but was not sure if God’s heart was one of love and unmerited favor toward him.
My friend, don’t be like that leper who completely misread Jesus! Matthew 8:3 records that “Jesus put out His hand and touched him, saying, ‘I am willing; be cleansed.’” Jesus was most willing. In fact, can you see how personal Jesus’ ministry is? Jesus stretched out His hand and touched the leper tenderly. I believe that Jesus did this to heal him not just of his leprosy, but also of the emotional scars that he had received from years of rejection.
Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13:8). Whatever the breakthrough you are believing Him for, He says to you, “I AM WILLING.” Don’t doubt His heart of love for you any longer. Stop being occupied by your own disqualifications and be completely absorbed in His love and grace toward you!
“As it is written: “I have made you a father of many nations.” He is our father in the sight of God, in whom he believed—the God who gives life to the dead and calls into being things that were not.” Romans 4:17 NIV
How does God respond to our problems? For example, how did He respond to the problem of darkness? The Bible tells us that when God saw darkness on the face of the deep, He said, “Let there be light,” and there was light (Genesis 1:3). God saw the light and it was good. He saw good after He spoke! He didn’t speak about the darkness He saw. Instead, He spoke forth what He wanted to see.
My friend, you are made in God’s image. And God wants you to deal with the problems in your life by speaking forth what you want to see. Unfortunately, many of us tend to speak about our problems instead. We keep talking about how bad the situation is and then we wonder why the whole situation just seems to get worse!
Now, I am not telling you to deny that your problem exists. The darkness was there and God saw it, but He did not speak about what He saw. Rather, God chose to speak forth what He wanted to see. In fact, He called forth everything of creation—the sun, moon, stars, land animals, sea creatures and vegetation. By simply speaking, He brought all these incredible things into existence.
Beloved, if you want to see good, then speak the good that you want to see. Don’t say, “This headache is really killing me.” Say, “I am healthy and strong for by Jesus’ stripes I have been healed!” And don’t say, “My boss hates me. He’s always picking on me.” Instead say, “Because I have favor with God, I have favor with my boss!” Call forth the good that you want to see and you will see it!
“As she got up to glean, Boaz gave orders to his men, “Let her gather among the sheaves and don’t reprimand her. Even pull out some stalks for her from the bundles and leave them for her to pick up, and don’t rebuke her.”” Ruth 2:15-16 NIV
I just love the story of Ruth, a poor Moabite widow in the Old Testament, who ended up meeting and marrying Boaz, one of the richest men in Bethlehem. It’s a beautiful love story that reveals so much about our loving Lord Jesus.
In this part of the story, Boaz, who owns the field Ruth is gleaning in, leaves an instruction for his men just as Ruth gets ready for her day’s gleaning. When Ruth goes out to glean, she sees plenty of grain in the fields and simply picks it all up—it is the much-needed provision for herself and her mother-in-law. What Ruth doesn’t know is that Boaz has actually commanded his men to “let grain from the bundles fall purposely for her”, because she has found favor in his eyes.
Isn’t it cool when Jesus, our heavenly Boaz, purposely commands the blessings on us, and tells His angels to drop them along our way? All we have to do is to go out into the fields and “pick them up”.
Beloved, because you have found favor in His eyes, the Lord is purposely dropping His blessings along your path every single day! Like Ruth, all you have to do is to step out into your field of provision. With eyes of faith, see doors of opportunities opening before you. Have the courage to apply for that job you have always dreamed about. Prepare and equip yourself, and go forth and pick up those blessings the Lord has already laid before you. Your future is bright!
“Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness.” 2 Corinthians 9:10 NIV
When Jesus sent His disciples out to heal the sick, meet their needs, and share the Gospel, He told them, “Give as freely as you have received” (Matthew 10:8). In other’s words, God has given you everything you need to do what He’s called you to do in this life. He has equipped you to be successful and has empowered you to overcome in this life. He’s given you seed to sow in order to have an abundant harvest in your future. You have what it takes!
God has placed seed in your hand today, but in order for that seed to produce, it has to be planted. It has to be watered. It has to be fertilized. Today, ask God to show you where to plant your seed. Make sure you are sowing in the right ground and tending to the seed He has given you. Remember, God has a good plan for your future. He has plans to bless you and increase you. Today, you have what it takes to move forward and receive the blessing He has prepared for you!
“Father, thank You for equipping me for every good work. Thank You for giving me good seed to sow! I invite You to guide my every step by Your Holy Spirit. Thank You for choosing me to be a part of Your plan in Jesus’ name. Amen.”
“My times are in your hands; deliver me from the hands of my enemies, from those who pursue me.” Psalm 31:15 NIV
One thing I’ve learned is that God doesn’t always work on our timetable. In fact, He rarely does. But in a single moment, God can change your life! All throughout scripture, we see examples of how God was working behind the scenes and instantly turned things around for His people. Scripture tells us He is the same yesterday, today and forever which means He can instantly turn things around for you, too!
You may be going through some difficulty today, but be encouraged because your times are in God’s hands. He wants to accelerate things in your favor. He wants to take you further than you dreamed possible and work in your life in ways beyond what you have ever imagined.
Let this truth sink down into your heart today. Resist discouragement by speaking His Word over your future. Keep standing. Keep hoping; keep believing because He is working behind the scenes. He’s going to accelerate your times and lead you into the life of victory He has for you!
“Father, today I humbly come before You giving You all that I am. I trust that my times are in Your hands. I trust that You are working things out in my favor. I set my focus on You knowing that You are working things out for my good in Jesus’ name. Amen.”
“Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.” Luke 12:7 NIV
Many Christians make the mistake of thinking that God is too busy taking care of the “big things” to be interested in the little problems they are facing.
But God is not like that. He is not just God Almighty, He is also your heavenly Father who loves you! To God, whether it’s a new pimple on your face, a sore throat or an aching back, no matter how trivial or commonplace it sounds, if it troubles you, He wants to take care of it!
If, as the Bible says, God bothers to keep track of how many hairs you have on your head, then there is no symptom, no discomfort and no condition in your body that He doesn’t know of or care about. There is no event that has happened to you that has escaped His notice. His love for you is all-encompassing, personal and in-depth.
Beloved, there is nothing in your body or life that is too small that you can’t bring to Him and watch Him take care of. As you bring your needs to Him today, expect to experience His healing for your body and His provision for all areas of your life!
“And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you.” Romans 8:11 NIV
We serve a supernatural God! He is not limited by anything or anyone. He’s ready to do the impossible in you, for you and through you!
Think about this for a moment: when you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, the Spirit of God actually makes His home in you—the same spirit that raised Christ from the dead! That means that you have unlimited power, unlimited wisdom, unlimited ability, unlimited joy and unlimited peace living inside of you by the power of the Holy Spirit. As a believer, you have the unlimited, supernatural, living God inside of you!
Let that sink down deep into your heart. Let it restore confidence and strength to your being. Let it energize your thoughts and attitude today. As you meditate on Him and the vastness of His power inside of you, you will tap into that power more and more. Every day, you’ll experience His supernatural increase as you put Him first—the Supernatural One living in you!
“Father, thank You for sending Your Son, Jesus, so that I can have eternal, abundant life in You. Thank You for choosing to make Your home in me and empowering me by Your Spirit. Father, give me Your wisdom and revelation so that I can rise higher and embrace everything You have in store for me in Jesus’ name. Amen.”
“Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, forbearance and patience, not realizing that God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance?” Romans 2:4 NIV
You are important to Jesus. Know with full assurance in your heart that He knows you perfectly, and yet accepts and loves you perfectly.
When you begin to understand that, you will realize that it is truly that unmerited favor, that favor from Jesus that you know you do not deserve, did not merit and cannot earn for yourself, that will perfect every imperfection and weakness in your life.
If you are facing challenges, such as lack in any area, addictions, fears, sicknesses or broken relationships, Jesus’ unmerited favor will protect, deliver, prosper, bring restoration to and provide for you. His unmerited favor will transform you and make you whole, and it is His goodness, not your striving and self-efforts, that will lead you to live victoriously for His glory.
